The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey is teaming up with Junior Achievement to host Junior Achievement Day. The event will take place on October 1 at Watsessing School in Bloomfield, N.J. Volunteers will take over two classes in each grade (grades 1 – 6) and teach the grade-appropriate financial program.
October 3, 2009 (11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey will host a seminar, "Simple Steps to Improve Your Credit," on October 3 at the Dover Health Fair in Dover, N.J. Credit issues will be discussed within the financial planning process. Presentations will be held in a small classroom setting. Educational material on financial matters will be available to all attendees.
October 6, 2009 (9:30 – 2:30 p.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey will host a Financial Fitness Day on October 6 at Bergen Community College in Paramus, N.J. Three workshops for incoming freshman will be held on planning, money management, budgeting and credit. The President of Bergen Community College will proclaim Financial Planning Week on campus. The FPA E$$AY Challenge will be held and the winner will receive $500 toward the subsequent term's tuition.
October 7, 2009 (6:30 – 8:30 p.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey with team up with the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants to host "Making Homeownership Part of Your Financial Plan" on October 7 in Roseland, N.J. October 10, 2009 (11:00 a.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey will host a senior issues seminar on October 10 at Emeritus Senior Living in Wayne, N.J. The presentation is open to residents, family members and some non-residents.
October 13, 2009 (6:30 – 8:30 p.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey is teaming up with Fairleigh Dickinson University to host the Women's Coalition event on October 13 at the Hartman Lounge in Madison, N.J. A basic financial planning presentation will be presented. While the process may be the same for everyone, the focus is on the special needs of women. Demographic data point to the special needs of women in financial planning due to longer life expectancies, interrupted careers due to family obligations, lower Social Security benefits and the negative financial impact of divorce for many.
October 15, 2009 (8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)
