The Financial Planning Association of Southwest Florida is teaming up with the News-Press newspaper to host a telephone hotline for the public on October 4 in Fort Meyers, Fla. Financial experts from the Financial Planning Association will answer calls from the local community regarding financial, tax and estate planning.

October 6, 2009 (11:00 a.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of Broward is teaming up with Sun-Sentinel to host "Sun-Sentinel Your Money Helpline" on October 6 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Financial planners from the Financial Planning Association will answer questions from the public via phone and/or internet chat.
October 6, 2009 (3:00 – 6:00 p.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of Southwest Florida will host "Financial Planning Week Public Outreach" on October 6 in Bonita Springs, Fla. Financial experts from the Financial Planning Association will answer questions and help consumers with financial planning issues including credit counseling, mortgage refinance and general financial, tax and estate planning issues. A panel discussion with representatives from various state and non-profit organizations will be featured. Also, the City of Bonita Springs will recognize the Financial Planning Association with a proclamation announcing October 5 — 11 as Financial Planning Week.
October 8 & 9, 2009 (11:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of Miami-Dade, in collaboration with the Human Services Coalition (HSC) and the Alliance for Aging, Inc., will be providing a series of financial literacy presentations to the Catholic Charities Services for the Elderly at the Miami Shores Senior Center on Thursday, October 8 and Friday, October 9. Volunteers will have a unique opportunity to share their financial planning knowledge on current and relevant senior care topics such as identity theft, appropriate personal and family insurance selection, Medicare fraud prevention, and funeral/burial planning.
October 9, 2009 (11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of Miami-Dade Community Outreach Program for Financial Literacy will host and make a Spanish presentation on estate planning to 10-15 caregivers of memory disorders and Alzheimer's patients at the Wien Center for Alzheimer's Research at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Fla. on Friday, October 9.
