The Financial Planning Association of Silicon Valley is teaming up with the CFP Board and other FPA chapters of the Bay Area to host the "Oakland Financial Planning Clinic" on October 3 at the Elihu Harris State Building in Oakland, Calif. This event will provide pro bono financial planning to the community.

The Financial Planning Association of San Diego will feature a radio talk show interview with their president on AM 1170 on October 3. FPA of San Diego president, Jim Lingelbach, CLU, ChFC, CFP®,CASL, will be interviewed.

The Financial Planning Association of San Joaquin Valley will be featured in The Record newspaper for their Extreme Money Makeover. Candidates for the money makeover have to agree to have their financial situation reviewed by a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Certified Public Accountant and an attorney. The recommendations from the experts will be published in The Record newspaper.

The Financial Planning Association of Silicon Valley is teaming up with Cupertino Library to host a seminar, "Real Life Retirement Planning," on October 4. The seminar will be held at the Cupertino Library in Cupertino, Calif.

The Financial Planning Association of Silicon Valley is teaming up with Junior Achievement to host a Junior Achievement half day event. The event will take place on October 5 at the Edison Brentwood Academy in East Palo Alto, Calif. and will provide financial literacy education to grades K — 5.

The Financial Planning Association of San Diego, in partnership with the San Diego Union Tribune, will host a free personal finance hotline on October 7. October 8, 2009 (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
The Financial Planning Association of San Diego will host the event "The USS Midway Celebrates Financial Planning Week!" on October 8 at the Broadway Pier in San Diego, Calif. Members of FPA of San Diego will be on hand from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the USS Midway Museum to discuss Financial Planning Week and the benefits of financial planning with the public. The San Diego Chapter Board's mission is to increase financial literacy in San Diego County. The USS Midway is the longest-serving U.S. Navy aircraft carrier of the 20th century. It continues its mission today as an educational facility for thousands of school children, an event center for numerous functions and galas, and as a living memorial to the 225,000 officers and sailors who served aboard her during her 47-year odyssey.
